Under Bandages

Under-bandages provide extra padding to long-term dressings or wraps due to sprains. Under-bandages are used to create an even surface between the skin and the external covering, without an under-bandage this can quickly become uncomfortable and may even damage the skin or joint. Bandaging a horse’s leg can provide stability to the joint and support to the tendons and ligaments. Support bandages protection the horse’s legs from impact and reduce swelling. Under-bandages are developed for medical professionals to provide a soft and comfortable supportive layer beneath a bandage, because they are intended for use as part of a dressing they are engineered to be soft, comfortable and absorbent, with an even thickness distribution through the material; these qualities are perfect for an under-bandage used as part of a horse wrap.

Under-bandages are created to be a soft orthopaedic padding, for bandaging and dressings. They are Ideal to be used for long term injuries such as tendon injuries or damaged ligaments. They are also very useful as a protective layer between the wound dressing and the external bandages, this will limit chafing and create a more comfortable dressing for the animal.
